Privacy notice
United Kingdom · Updated 2 November 2026
This notice describes our email-based enquiry and questionnaire flow.
Who is responsible
Alice McCaskey, trading as off the hanger., is responsible for client personal information. For privacy questions, contact offthehangerstyling@outlook.com.
Information you provide
Enquiries and questionnaires may include your name, email address, styling preferences, sizes, shopping budget, event or trip details and links to photos or existing clothes. A gift purchaser may provide recipient details. Alice should give recipients this notice when first contacting them.
Only provide what is relevant to styling. You can omit optional questions. Please do not send payment-card details, identity documents or health information through the questionnaire.
What the website does
Form answers are prepared in your browser. “Prepare email to Alice” opens your email app; you review and send the message yourself. The form code does not submit answers to a website database. Downloads save a text copy on your device. Your browser, email provider and hosting provider may process data under their own terms.
Site hosting is provided through OpenAI Sites. Hosting may process technical visit information and traffic analytics; restricted access may also use ChatGPT sign-in. Microsoft Outlook handles messages sent to Alice’s email address. The launch review must confirm hosting logs, cookies, retention, international processing and any sign-in information available to Alice. No advertising analytics or marketing pixels have been added in the site code.
How information is used
The proposed purposes are responding to enquiries, agreeing and providing styling, managing gifts, handling amendments and keeping payment and business records. Steps requested before a booking and service delivery use the contractual lawful basis; legally required records use legal obligation. Necessary administration and handling disputes may use legitimate interests, with an assessment of the effect on customers. These bases must be confirmed for actual processing before launch.
Enquiring does not subscribe you to marketing. We may share genuinely anonymised outfit layouts for marketing, with identifying details and client photos removed; clients can ask us not to use their lookbooks. Names, client photos, testimonials and identifiable or attributed styling results require separate, specific permission. Consent is optional and can be withdrawn for future use by emailing Alice, without affecting your styling service. See the lookbook-use clause in our terms.
Providers and international processing
Microsoft and OpenAI Sites provide email and website services. Payments are made by bank transfer. Alice and the banks involved process relevant payer, payment reference and transaction details to confirm and record payments. Alice does not ask for online banking passwords or card details. Other tools used for lookbooks, file sharing or records must be identified before client data is placed in them.
Where providers process information outside the UK, Alice must confirm the applicable adequacy arrangements or transfer safeguards and explain how customers can obtain more information before finalising this notice.
Keeping information
Unsuccessful enquiries are kept for up to six months after the last contact. Styling questionnaires and client photos are kept for up to 12 months after completion of the service, and deleted sooner where no longer needed. Financial records are kept for the applicable legal retention period, normally at least five years after the 31 January Self Assessment submission deadline for the relevant tax year. Gift administration records are kept while needed to manage redemption and resolve any related query. Records needed for a legal obligation or an active dispute may be retained longer, limited to what is necessary. We review records and securely delete information when no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact offthehangerstyling@outlook.com to make a request.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please also tell Alice about your concern so she can try to resolve it. Styling decisions are made by Alice; the site does not make automated eligibility decisions.
Cookies and updates
The current source code does not add advertising cookies or optional tracking scripts. Hosting and sign-in behaviour still needs a live cookie and provider review. If optional cookies are introduced, the notice and consent controls must be updated before those cookies are used. Material changes to this notice will be dated and explained.
